п»їDetermination of: Titration of a Weakened Acid

Introduction:

We will be using the LoggerPro and LabPro in order to help all of us determine our data. The objective of this test is to the actual changes of pH through the titration of your acid and a base to be able to determine the of the weak acid,. is a constant to get a given chemical p at a given temperature. From this experiment all of us determined the Ka using two different methods: 1) the dimension of the pH of a answer containing a known attentiveness of a poor acid, and 2) dimension of the ph level at the half-neutralization point in the titration of any weak chemical p and a strong base. Theory and Idea:

When titrating a weak acid, ', with a strong base the equilibrium involving the weak acid and its ion is reestablished after every addition of base. The reaction in this titration will be shifted towards the immediately after every addition of a bottom. At the beginning of a titration among a poor acid and a strong basic, there is generally HA in the solution with small amounts of H30+ and A- since a small amount of foundation has been added therefore a modest amount of ionization features occurred. As we added even more base, more HA is definitely ionized plus more salt development occurs meaning the concentration of ANORDNA will reduce while the focus of IKKE- will increase. The pH goes up above the equivalence point since we are adding base to a solution with a relatively large volume. By the end of the titration the ratio of [A-]/[HA] goes from low to high. Which means that all of the ANORDNA will be neutralized, causing the pH to change. Because of the quick pH change places the assent point, the titrant needs to be added in lesser and lesser amounts as we approach the equivalence point. Procedure:
